Merge Duplicate Rolling Stock

The NRSR system will automatically detect duplicate values in rolling stock identification fields, including:

• Vehicle ID
• AEI tags

Where the NRSR system identifies duplicates, data owners will be notified. Merge functionality will guide an asset merge process which will include selecting the base asset to merge into and modifying field values where relevant. 

1. When duplicates are detected in an import file a dialog warning will appear:

Duplicates found

There were duplicates detected in the import. Would you like to view the duplicates

2. Clicking YES in this dialog will take you to the Duplicates tab in the Rolling Stock area of the system which lists potential duplicate rolling stock for the account. 

3. A banner will also be displayed on the profile page of any rolling stock item with potential duplicates

4. If multiple potential duplicates exist, the system will prompt you to select from the list of potentials

5. The system merge tool (see image below) then prompts you to make a decision about the direction of the merge an confirm
